This weekend, I read that the British Library has uploaded to Flickr Commons images from books and periodicals from the 17th-19th centuries, as part of the “Unseen Illustrations” project. They are available for use and repurpose in any way.
I’ve had time only to look at a few pages worth of images; there are 10,200 pages and more than a million images, and they aren’t (yet) categorized in a way that allows one to search by, say “woodworking,” but already, I’ve come across a few pictures that are of interest to the craft, including some interesting furniture pieces and the frame-saw image above.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to dive back in.
Here are some supplies and tools we find essential in our everyday work around the shop. We may receive a commission from sales referred by our links; however, we have carefully selected these products for their usefulness and quality.
