The IWF and AWFS show (held in alternating years in Atlanta and Las Vegas) are known as places where machinery manufacturers and industry suppliers show their latest products. One of the highlights of these shows for me is the announcement of the winners of the annual Veneer-Tech Craftsman’s Challenge awards. I was a judge for this contest in 2010 and 2011, and you can click here to read posts I wrote about those competitions. At right is this year’s Grand Prize winner, “Transitional Cabinets” by Keith Morgan and Aaron Nash of Bespoke Minneapolis. Click on the image for a larger version of the photo to see some absolutely stunning and detailed work.

At left is the Furniture Category Winner, “Jewelry Armoire” by Richard Hubbs of Richard Hubbs Furniture and Design, an amazing piece in both design and execution.

Be sure to visit the Veneer-Tech website for information on all of this year’s winners as well as all of the winners and entries going back to 2005. This is one of the best sources of inspiration and cutting edge work available online.
