Bad Hare Day-j

Congratulations to Silas Kopf, who has been named the winner in the wood category of the 2015 James Renwick Alliance of the Smithsonian Institution’s Master of the Medium Award. The cabinet above, “Bad Hare Day,” was acquired by the Renwick in 2008, and his work is on display in the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, the Brooklyn Museum of Art and the Milwaukee Art Museum, and he’s represented in many private collections. (And we are quite honored to featured Silas as a speaker at Woodworking in America 2014.)

Past winners in the wood category include Sam Maloof, Wendell Castle, Judy McKie, Mark Sfirri and Edward Moulthrop.
