PWIA TransportaionIf you’re flying in to the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CGV) for Popular Woodworking in America next weekend, there are several good options for ground transportation to downtown Covington.

You can, of course, rent a car…but it’s really not necessary if you’re staying at one of the two “official” conference hotels (the Cincinnati Marriott Rivercenter of Embassy Suites Cincinnati Riverfront), or at any of the nearby hotels. Everything conference-related is within a hammer throw of those two hotels, and but a nice jaunt across the Roebling Bridge if you’re staying in downtown Cincinnati. And there’s plenty of excellent food options within walking distance as well (look for a post on my favorite area restaurants early next week).

So, short of renting a likely unnecessary vehicle, here are some options (and you’ll find this information at the clearly marked “Ground Transportation” kiosk in Terminal 3 near baggage claim at the airport…and you’re almost certainly going to be in Terminal 3):

Van & Car Service: $24 to downtown Covington or Cincinnati; walk-ups are welcome, or reserve in advance at 800-990-8841 (or click here).

Taxicab Service: $34 to downtown Covington or Cincinnati. 859-767-3260

Bus service: TANK Airport Express. $2 to Northern Kentucky Convention Center (drops off about 185 ft. away). Available from 5:45 a.m. to about 11:30 p.m., and picks up at terminal 3 every 1.5 hours or so. (Download the schedule here.)

Lyft & Uber are also authorized to operate at CVG.
