First released more than 15 years ago, the newest iteration of M.Power’s Fasttrack Sharpening system adds a few user-friendly upgrades to the popular sharpening system. The gist is, instead of running your chisel or plane blade over a diamond plate to sharpen it, you run the diamond plate over your chisel or plane blade.
It’s an approachable way for a novice to get a repeatable, sharp edge on tools. Just put your blade in the holder, choose your diamond stone, and start sharpening, moving through the grits.
As of late, I’ve been using a water-cooled grinder as my primary sharpening method, but I did find the Fasttrack convenient for touching up my chisels away from the shop. In addition to the The Fasttrack MK2 sharpening system, the bundle includes four diamond plates, a non-slip matt, a strop and a deburring plate all fitted in a soft case.
