|Ian, a professional box maker from Northern Ireland, was commissioned to create a presentation box to hold chocolate mints, which will be presented to Prince William and Kate Middleton for their wedding.Ian creates bespoke (custom-made) boxes for businesses and private individuals throughout the world. For Ian, this commission is akin to receiving a Royal Seal of Approval and will no doubt increase awareness and interest in his boxes from Royal fans and many others.
The Royal box is hand made from Sycamore, a native light-colored wood, with fitted trays lined in black lamb nappa leather to hold the individual mints. The box is adorned with brass hardware, including hinges of Ian’s own design, and an inlaid black escutcheon. The lid’s black border frames the Royal Monogram, which features fine marquetry from Aryma Ltd, England.
“We were chosen to make this unique presentation box,” Ian says, “because our attitude to crafting perfection with precision and care reflects our customer’s own approach to making their products. I am absolutely thrilled to have created this commemorative gift box and wish the happy couple all the very best in their future lives together.”
