I can’t seem to locate the images I know I took of Christopher Schwarz at Midwest Lumber when last we were there…and that’s probably a good thing. If I recall correctly, they showed him scrambling up the many and highly stacked wood piles to unearth the perfect pieces of pine, teak, mahogany and sapele. Mission accomplished…but probably not whilst displaying the safest practices.

So instead, I’ll show you my full-size English tool chest – there’s not a panel glue-up in the entire thing; the wood is from Midwest Lumber. That is some wide, straight, gorgeous sugar pine. There’s still plenty to be had – now at a substantial discount. I’ll be buying.

This Saturday, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m., the doors will be open for what is probably the last time to sell the remaining stock at 25 percent off the already-low prices for solid wood and 40 percent off veneer.

Midwest is located at 4019 Montgomery Road, Norwood, Ohio, 45212. Bring cash or check – no plastic.
