The last stages of this fun job were to cut the plaque ellipse shape and install the plaque on the trunk.
Notice that the middle letter ? received an exceptionally long pointer that extended from the ellipse parameter.
This was intentional, of course, and was intended to "break" the traditional shape of the plaque design – where all its content: words, motifs, or symbols are encapsulated by a simple shape such as a shield or an ellipse. My design, and in fact every design that wants to be novel or unusual, will revisit and modify traditional patterns, "poking them," challenging them, and crossing over into new boundaries that were never reached before, while at the same time relying upon the traditional path which previous artisans literally 'carved out' for us.
