While working on a project, I used to draw sketches, keep notes and record shopping lists on writing pads. Unfortunately, they always got lost.

Then I discovered tile board at my local home center. Designed for bath and shower enclosures, the 1/8-in.-thick tile board is smooth, white and easy to clean—just like dry-erase board.

Using hot-melt glue, I mounted tile board on every cabinet door in my shop. Maybe I got a little carried away, but a 4 x 8-ft. sheet costs only $10 and it can cover a lot of cabinet doors. Besides, I like to draw.
