Getting drawer fronts perfectly aligned inside a cabinet is now a lot easier, thanks to Accuride. Its updated 3832 series drawer slides include a clever cam-shaped adjustment device that gives you up to 3/16-in. wiggle room. Most slides have elongated slots for fussing with the fit, but cams are faster. Here's how they work: Mount the slide hardware in the usual way, but only drive two screws into the drawer box. Push the drawer into the opening and check the gap around the front. If it's uneven, simply pull out the drawer and turn a cam to move either side of the drawer front up or down. When the gaps are even, drive additional screws into the drawer box to lock it in place. The 3832 slides are full extension and can take a 100-lb. load. The cam adjustment is also available on a variety of other slides for heavier loads or larger drawers.
