As we get closer to winter here in New York, I thought that it was about time to wrap up showing the summer projects that my woodworking students in Belmont Hill School have built. Emily’s clock had perhaps the most attention to detail of the pieces made by these young woodworkers.
What we set out to do was create two wave-shape facades and lay on them a thin piece of 3-ply model making veneer. We glued the strip of veneer to the wave and secured it with two rows of decorative nails. Emily painted one of the facades and added beautiful numbers.
