Thanks for all the great comments! Congratulations to “Jeffreyi,” the winner of this book giveaway. Stay tuned for more exciting book giveaways and if you’re interested in a copy of “The Art and Craft of Cabinet-making” it is currently available at ShopWoodworking.com.
After a brief lapse in book giveaways due to a bit of travel, I’m back at it again. This week I’m giving away a copy of “The Art and Craft of Cabinet-making” by David Denning. It’s a high-quality binding of a classic woodworking text that belongs in every woodworker’s collection.
You’ll find insight into wood selection, glue prep, tools and appliances, joinery, decorative details, hardware and much more (just check out the table of contents below). In short, its a fundamental woodworking book that remains relevant to this day. Christopher Schwarz called it “one of the many books that form my core library.” Despite the fact that book was written in the late 1800s, the author’s approach is a no-nonsense one. So, while you get a peek into traditional practices you also get plenty of solid instruction and advice based on timeless cabinet-making and furniture-building basics.
Here’s your chance at a free copy: Simply post a comment and I’ll select one winner at random. But keep in mind this printing is limited, so make sure you get your hands on a copy before they’re gone. Good luck!
Here are some supplies and tools we find essential in our everyday work around the shop. We may receive a commission from sales referred by our links; however, we have carefully selected these products for their usefulness and quality.
