THROPHY BASE MDF

THIS IS FOR A TIN SOLDIER TO SIT ON FOR A CUSTOMER. A SIMPLE MDF THROPHY BASE TURNED USING MY CHISELS I MADE FROM FILES.!! WHILE ON LATHE IT HAS BEEN SEALED AND STAINED TO A DARK TEAK COLOUR. THIS TOOK 8 MINUTES TO TURN FROM LOADING ON TO HEAD STOCK TO FINISHING.AND USING MY FILES TURNED TO CHISELS FOR WOODTURNING ARE IDEAL. I HAVE 4 MORE TO TURN SO TO COPY 1ST ONE I WILL MAKE A TEMPLATE FROM A  HARDBOARD OFF CUT.SO EACH WILL BE PLUS MINUS 1 MM. AS YOU CAN SEE STAIN ON THE MDF? I BRUSH ON STAIN THEN AS LATHE IS TURNING I WILL USE WIRE WOOL MEDIUM TO HOLD AGAINST IT WHILE SPINNING.IT GIVES A GOOD FINNISH AND THE EFFECT IS FLAWLESS. AND IT WILL MAKE THE MDF LOOK LIKE SOLID TEAK.
