This is the start of a 6 metre x 5.040 metre decking. Before there was old decking which was solid 6 x 2 timber, with household internal flooring 6 x 3/4 inch.None of old was treated or tanalised. And the fixings on old boards were between 12 to 14 screws every  16 inches .Now area is cleared we are using 6 x 2 tanalised and treated timbers for the main frame. And 4 x 2 tanalised and treated timbers for the bearers which will be on joist hangers with noggins inbetween. The handrail will be fixed onto turned newel post..Time wise was getting the main decking frame right which is near on perfect with frame being out by 5 mm . With the weather here while doing decking had a little snow here and there.Plus a little blood here and there. At a later date you will see decking taking shape .
