Readers in the New York area shouldn’t miss the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s exhibit “Duncan Phyfe: Master Cabinetmaker in New York,” which is slated to run through May 6, 2012. Whether you make it to the exhibit or not, take a look at the museum’s video of Maine woodworker Allan Breed turning and carving water leaves on the bedpost of a Phyfe reproduction he’s building. As always from Breed, the work is stellar. The video work is also very well done.
If you’re interested in taking a class with Breed or simply seeing more of his work, check out his school’s web site.
