I’m gonna let you in on a little secret: I don’t read all the e-mails we send out. (I know, I know – there are too many; I’m pleased to let you know that we’re reducing the number.) So I’m guessing you don’t always read them all, either. But sometimes, you do miss something good. Really!
Every month, we select a group of products organized around a single theme, be it a tool, a type of furniture or an author (and once in awhile just disparate groupings of things we like, such as my “Fitz’s Picks”), then we offer them as a “kit of the month” or “value pack” (or “collections,” when we’re feeling fancy”) for a significant savings off the total retail price of each item were you to buy each individually. Oh – and they’re available in limited numbers, ranging from 50-150.
These “kits” are typically a mix of videos, downloads and physical books (and sometimes a related tool), and the savings are typically in the range of 50 percent to 65 percent.
We have two new ones available right now that I didn’t want you to miss.
The first is “The Woodwright’s Shop 10-volume Collection,” which includes volumes 1-10; each is a 2-DVD set. Retail on each is $39.99 or $399.90 for all of them; in the “collection” (because Roy is a fancy kind of guy), you get all 10 for $163 (and free shipping).
The second is “The Tool Chest Value Pack” (retail value $119 and change, your price, $60). In it, you’ll find two DVDs (“A Traditional Tool Chest in Two Days” and “A Traditional Workbench in Two Days” – I don’t know about you, but atop the bench is my most-used tool “storage,” I’m ashamed to say); five digital downloads (“The Woodwright’s Shop” Episode on (one of) Roy’s tool box(es), “Building the Perfect Tool Chest,” a PDF book of 15 tool chests from former PW Books editor Jim Stack, the December 2012 PDF issue of Popular Woodworking, which features Tommy MacDonald’s chest, and a PDF of the tool tote article with angled ends that I built for Woodworking Magazine and my simple Gent’s Chest from Popular Woodworking) and one book (Jim Tolpin’s “The Toolbox Book: A Craftsman’s Guide to Tool Chests, Cabinets, and Storage Systems).
And when we don’t sell out of the kits/collections/value packs/bundles…assemblages/aggregations/bunch/compilations/agglomerations/groupings/ (yeah, OK, I’m tapped), we leave them online on the Woodworking Collections page on the store. There, you’ll find topics ranging from a backsaw mini-bundle to a carving kit, groupings of work from Marc Adams to Chuck Bender, a Hand tool Builder’s Collection to a Woodworker’s Router Collection. All at great prices.
Here are some supplies and tools we find essential in our everyday work around the shop. We may receive a commission from sales referred by our links; however, we have carefully selected these products for their usefulness and quality.
