Poor-man's inlay (also known as sulphur inlay) is a historically accurate technique that's sure to push your passion for inlay to new levels. It's a simple-to-execute process and the results are stunning - there are, however, a few tricks to be learned in the video. The entire process requires only a single woodworking tool (a V-carving tool), plus a hot plate and inexpensive pan in which you can heat your sulphur. The technique came into being beginning around 1765, in Lancaster Penn., and was popular only until around 1820.
