In the forerunner to Popular Woodworking Magazine, a small, California-based publication titled Pacific Woodworker, there are some excellent interviews – including this one with woodworking legend Sam Maloof, from issue 7, by Bill Farnsworth. We don’t have digital files or the original photographs for these early issues, so I can’t easily post the text and images – but here’s a PDF of the interview in its entirety (including Sam’s advice to woodworkers and a recipe for “Maloof Finish”).
