Yup — we’re moving (hopefully within two weeks). I’m told the office space is almost done, and the shop is awaiting approval on the electric. I saw Roy demonstrate his passer drill at the Williamsburg conference a few years back, and it still seems like it must use witchcraft to function the way it does.

I attended that class at the Acanthus workshop. Making the dowel is not as hard as it sounds but it isn’t easy. Takes alot of patience and a decent block plane with a sharp blade.

I will be looking for the Charles Bender article. I just received the Lei-Neilsen dowel plate and finished reading the David Charlesworth article about it. I was wondering how I would make “dowels” close enough to use it correctly.

Adding to “tittlek”‘s remark about the quality of Popular Woodworking, I am always delighted to see my issue in the mailbox. I am, however, concerned to see Glenn and Chris leaving to pursue other ventures. The imprint that Chris appears to have made on the magazine is huge and that is a great vacuum to fill. I must say, so far, so good!

Sorry! I assume you’re awaiting delivery of the print issue (the digital issue “mailed” last week)? The issue left the printer for “drop ship” locations around the country as late as Nov. 18 (I never know for sure exactly what day), and from there, it takes a few days to get to the various post office starting points, then into the USPS mailstream…and with the holiday weekend and all, I’m sure it was delayed a little longer than usual. I expect you’ll have the December issue sometime this week.

Nice teaser, I am yet to get my copy of the Dec issue in the mail when pictures and articles about it have been on this site for about 2 weeks now.

Nope — not an ulterior motive in sight. If good writers/woodworkers query us with good articles that we think will be of interest to our readers, we’re happy to work with said writers, no matter where they’ve been published before (or not).
