Classes With Bob Lang in 2012

Next year I’ll be teaching two classes on using Google SketchUp for designing woodworking projects, and a new class about making authentic Arts & Crafts period details. In April, I’ll be teaching for the first time at Annapolis Woodworks, in Annapolis, Maryland, with a weekend workshop on SketchUp, April 21-22. In August, I’ll be returning to the Marc Adams School of Woodworking in Franklin, Indiana for a week-long SketchUp class, August 27-31. Either of these classes is a great way to move your SketchUp skills to the next level. We start with the basics and work through the steps of 3D modeling for woodworking.

I’m especially excited about the Real Details of Arts & Crafts Furniture class I’ll be teaching the week of September 17-21, also at Marc Adams. In this class we’ll spend a week learning by doing, and students can choose their own projects to work on. In addition to hands-0n joinery and building instruction, I’ll be making presentations throughout the week exploring how these pieces were originally made, and sensible approaches for today’s woodworkers who want to build authentic reproductions.
