Bosch Compact Drill/Drivers: Right Size and Right Price

Boschhas offered reliable cordless drill/drivers for years now, but they've recently added two excellent drills to their line that deserve a place on your bench. Both are more compact and lightweight than previous models but keep the performance and endurance of Bosch's larger models.

The 9.6v 3105K ($115) offers a variable-speed ratio of 0-300/0-980 rpms, weighs only 3.1 pounds and delivers 175 inch-pounds of torque. The 12v 3305K ($135) offers a variable-speed ratio of 0-400/0-1200 rpms, weighs only 3.4 pounds and delivers 200 inch-pounds of torque. Both models have a 3/8" single-sleeve keyless chuck, two 1.4 amp-hour batteries, a one-hour charger and plastic case.

The weight, balance and performance of these tools make them perfect for use on all woodshop construction and assembly projects. If it's sitting on your workbench you'll use it all the time, and you'll wish there were two of them so you wouldn't have to change bits. Hmmm. Perhaps the 12v and 9.6v make a great benchtop pair.
